
Spicy Shrimp in Beer
1/2 C. butter
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 cup beer
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. crushed hot red pepper
1/2 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. cayenne
1-1/2 lb. peeled fresh shrimp
Combine butter and garlic in 2-quart round
microwave-proof casserole. Microwave on
high 1 to 2 minutes or until butter is melted.
Add beer and microwave, uncovered, on high 2
to 3 minutes or until boiling.
Add Worcestershire, salt, red pepper, thyme,
oregano, cayenne and shrimp, stirring to
coat shrimp. Push shrimp to outer rim of dish,
leaving center open. Cover with lid
or plastic wrap, turned back slightly
on one side, and microwave on
High 5 to 8 minutes or until shrimp
turn pink and test done, stirring
after 3 minutes. Let stand, covered,
2 to 3 minutes. Makes four servings
