Spiced Pecans

A tempting variation on the Hunan treatment of walnuts. They are easy to prepare, but be careful not to let them burn. Make lots; these are nice to give as gifts.

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 to 4 drops Tabasco sauce
4 cups (1 pound) whole pecans

1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Combine the melted butter with all the seasonings. Add the pecans and toss well. Spread on a large ungreased baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Remove to stir and toss the pecans with a spatula so they will bake evenly. Return to the oven for 5 to 10 minutes longer, until the pecans have dried slightly. Let cool and store in an airtight container. The pecans may be frozen.
