The neighborhood tavern asked me if I would consider adding 20+ feet
to their bar after tearing down a wall so it could be extended into the
dining area.
So, I built it in our garage, in 6 pieces - 3 bases and 3 counter tops.
The front of the bar is rough sawn cedar house siding that comes in 4x8 sheets.

Here it is just about ready to be moved. I was able to find the same Formica
pattern that was used on the original bar.

This is the wall we were supposed to tear down, except for 18 inches
on the right. Well, we showed up early one Saturday to do the job,
but ran in to a little problem.

It seems the wall was originally the back wall of the building and was
concrete block behind the studs & sheetrock, and was still supporting
part of the roof. There was also some electrical conduit going down into
the floor about 4 feet from the corner. Whoops!

Since it was beyond my level of expertise, they hired someone to come in and
install a steel beam for support. (No, it's not sitting on those studs -
that's the wall on the other side.

So I framed around the beam above and the blocks and conduit to the right,
and up went sheetrock and quantities of mud.

The (almost) finished product. There's a hinged section over the opening at
the close end, and swinging doors between the old and new bar at the other end.
There's also a TV shelf in the corner where you can see masking tape lines. The
foot rests are 6x6 treated posts and still need to be covered with vinyl or tile.
The beer cooler is just the other side of the wall, so it was easy for them to add
the 16 new spigots.
